The China-U.S. Culture Exchange Special Scholarship for Degree Students is aimed to support the students who are the citizen of United States of America to pursue bachelor, Master or Doctoral degree in China.

1. Categories, Duration, Language Requirement

A. Categories: Bachelor, Master or Doctoral degree programme

B. Language Requirement: Bachelor programme (in Chinese medium), Master and Doctoral programme (in English or Chinese medium).  If you have not met the Chinese requirement for Chinese-medium programme, Chinese language (preparatory) study will be arranged before the major study.

C. Scholarship Duration: Undergraduate (4-5 academic years), Master (2-3 academic years), Doctoral (3-4 academic years).

The scholarship duration specified in the Admission Letter covers major study and Chinese language study, and it cannot be extended in general.

2. Coverage and Standard

It is a full Chinese Government Scholarship.

A. A waiver of fee for registration, tuition;

B. Free on-campus dormitory accommodation, Undergraduate student(double room), Master and Doctoral student(single room);

C. Comprehensive medical insurance;

D. Monthly living allowance:

For undergraduate student: 2,500CNY per month

For post graduate student: 3, 000CNY per month

For doctoral student: 3, 500CNY per month

Within the scholarship duration, registered scholarship students will receive a stipend from their host university each month. Students registering on or before the 15th of the month will receive a full stipend of that month. Those who register after the 15th of the month will receive a half stipend of that month. Graduating students will receive stipend until half month after the graduation date. If registered student stays out of China for more than 15 days due to a personal reason (school holidays excluded), his stipend will be stopped during his leaving.

3. Eligibility

Applicants must:

A. be a citizen of United States of America, and be in good health;

B. be a senior high school degree holder under the age of 25 when applying for bachelor’s programs;

be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s

programs;

be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral

programs.

4. Application Procedure

A. Log on the online application system for international students to register at http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org, click Application Online for Chinese Government Scholarship, fill in the application form and submit it. (The Agency No. of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology is 10300)

B. Application documents shall be submitted to Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology before 22nd, April 2016.

5. Application Documents

A. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English);

B. Notarized highest diploma (photocopy): Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

C. Academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

D. CV (in English or Chinese);

E. Research plan (in English or Chinese). The minimum words for undergraduates and master students are 200 and 800 respectively.

F. Two recommendation letters from associate professors or professors(for master or doctoral applicants);

G. An Acceptance Letter from NUIST supervisor for doctoral applicants;

H. Foreigner Physical Examination Form;

I. Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose it in the application package;

J. Photocopy of your valid ordinary-type passport.

The above documents shall be submitted in duplicate. No application documents will be returned.
